If you’re working in the entertainment business, you know that staying in shape, looking fierce and having the stamina to get through long shows, week after week, night after night takes a certain amount of personal fitness to maintain such a schedule---you also probably know that being in the gym can get a little, dare we say, ::boring?:: So, we’ve gathered the top 10 fitness trends, to CHANGE IT up, stay in shape and have fun while you’re at it!

1. Piloxing
Just say it out loud, yes, it’s a combination of Pilates AND Boxing--and it’s the workout trend that has celebrities filling the classrooms--celebrity trainer and dance Viveca Jensen was the brainchild behind the ::ridiculously intense:: workout that tones your arms, booty, and keeps your heart rate high--- Victoria’s Secret models take the class, so, they must be doing something right.

2. Zumba
Dare I say that I’m a certified Zumba teacher? Oh yes, I am. I also know, from teaching it, that Zumba is an incredibly fun workout that will make you feel/look sexy. The combination of salsa, meringue, cumbia, and reggaeton combines classic Latin dance moves, with current Latin music and serious CARDIO.

3. P90X
If you’re super busy auditioning, touring, and running between classes/shows, you know that maintaining a workout schedule and making classes can be nearly impossible- with P90X you’ll not only get your butt kicked, but you can workout to the DVD’s in your hotel room, apartment, Europe, Japan--wherever your work may take you!

5. Pole Dancing Classes
Pole dance studios are popping up everywhere and while the classes may be fun for a Bachelorette party, or to amp up that “I’m so sexy like Beyonce, whoa” feeling--they’re great---but the truth is, this is A SERIOUS workout and if you implement it into your weekly routine, you’ll see the results. Have you ever tried to hoist yourself up on a pole? It takes some serious core/arm strength!

6. TurboKick
TaeBo is out and TurboKick is in---kickboxing is a workout that will have you feeling like a total Bad*$$ (it’s true) and TurboKick has the music, the dance aspect, and the proof that there will be results---these people are TONED.

7. Cirque School
In all seriousness, taking aerial/cirque classes, if you end up attaining the skills for it, is a good line ot add to the resume. You never know when you’ll book a cabaret act that asks you to jump up on the silks, or sing “Cry Me a River” from the moon-shaped hoop. Oh, and you burn calories, so there’s that.

8. Physique57
Similar to bar classes, with the emphasis on isometric exercises, orthopedic stretches, and highlighting long-lean muscles (hello Broadway, we love that) this work out will have you addicted.

9.Soul-Cycle (spinning/cycling)
There’s something about indoor cycling that really transforms not just your body, but your mind as well. When it comes to spin classes, it’s all about “powering through” and when it comes to being a part of the entertainment industry, it’s the same story. You have to stay MENTALLY strong and the physical aspect is the bonus of a strong mind. These classes are inspiring and will certainly having you feel like you can conquer any “rough patch,” or audition.

10. Hot Yoga
There are several variations of “hot yoga” Bikram, CorePower, Hot Yoga, they’re all variations of poses in rooms with heat/humidity---if you’re looking for something to center your spirit and soul, encourage a relaxed mind and grateful heart, that happens to burn a bucket full of calories, Hot Yoga is the exercise for you. You may find that you can kick your face a bit easier as well, just sayin’....flexibility is in.
