Alison began dancing at the age of three and hasn’t stopped since! Born and raised on Eastern Long Island, she trained at schools such as June Claire, Seiskaya Ballet, and Eglevsky Ballet. She was also a competitive gymnast for twelve years, winning titles on the floor exercise and balance beam.
Alison’s professional career began aboard the Disney Wonder where she performed in Hercules the Muse-ical, Disney Dreams, and Island Magic. She then returned to New York to pound the pavement in search of her next contract. A friend told her about a new show called Swing! that she thought was worth seeing and auditioning for. Sitting in the very last row of the St. James Theatre, Alison knew that this was something she had to be a part of. As luck would have it, she attended an audition and was cast as the Lindy couple in the National Tour of Swing! Her dreams were coming true! This show shaped the next few years of her career as a dancer.
Since completing the national tour, Alison has had the opportunity to work at Lincoln Center (Camelot), Carnegie Hall (Show Boat), and Town Hall (All Singin' All Dancin'). She has performed at some of the most amazing regional theaters across the country (including The Kennedy Center, T.U.T.S., The Fulton Theatre, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Gateway Playhouse and more). She has danced with legends Ben Vereen and Chita Rivera and has been in the studio with Tony Award Winning Choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler for pre-production for the musicals In the Heights, 9 to 5, and The Wiz as well as his choreography for "So You Think You Can Dance." Recently she was cast as a principal dancer for HBO's new show "Boardwalk Empire" (directed by Martin Scorsese).
As a choreographer Alison has assisted Luis Salgado (In the Heights) on multiple projects. Some of them include: Shafrika the White Girl (The Vineyard Theatre & Gypsy of the Year), "Dora's Explorer Girls," DRA's Dance From the Heart (Cedar Lake Theatre), I'll Be Damned (The Vineyard Theatre), and more. She assists and teaches alongside Luis in various styles including salsa, musical theater, and Latin fusion. She has also worked on pre-production with choreographers Josh Prince and Joshua Bergasse and assisted choreographer Warren Adams for an episode of ABC's "The View" with Ben Vereen. Alison recently choreographed Swing! at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre in Minnesota.
Alison is currently residing in Manhattan where she continues to pursue her dreams. In her free time she volunteers and is one of the Executive Directors of R.Evolución Latina, a collective of artists and activists committed to empowering the artistic community in order to inspire growth within the Latino Community through collaboration, productions, and educational support programs.
Dare to go beyond!
